This update includes several customer-requested features, minor UI enhancements, and important bug fixes. While we continue work on the larger update for parts inventory, ordering, and built-in vendor support, this release focuses on improving daily workflow and communication tools.

- Search Within Jobs
You can now search for tasks and parts inside a specific job. This search works across all folders within that job. - Job Merging & Splitting
You can now merge jobs for the same customer or split folders into separate jobs.- Merge: Use the “Customer History” tab inside a job.
- Split: Click on a folder title to move it to a different job.
- Appointment Reminders via Text or Email
Automatically send appointment reminders 1, 2, or 7 days before the scheduled date. - Authorization Requests via Text
You can now send authorization requests and receive signatures via text message in addition to email. - Post-Job Follow-Up Emails
New "follow up" message option when contacting customers. Includes customizable default text (e.g., Google review links). - Custom Email Signatures
You can now add a default signature for all emails sent from MSA. - Quantity Support for Fixed Price Tasks
Fixed-price tasks now support quantities greater than 1. - Automatic Fees & Discounts
You can now configure specific fees or discounts to automatically apply to every new job. - Per-Job Hourly Rate Overrides
You can override the default shop hourly rate for individual jobs. - VIN & Mileage Completion Requirements
New shop setting requiring VIN and/or mileage before a job can be marked complete. This may retroactively un-complete jobs missing this data. - QuickBooks Online Enhancements
- Invoice numbers now pull the next available number from QBO.
- Added full sales tax entity support for Canadian shops, syncing those to QBO exports.
UI Improvements
- Employee Service Report Layout
Improved spacing by day and added color indicators for exceeding estimated hours. - Appointment Text Messages in Chat
Appointment reminders now appear in the customer chat stream. - Printed Invoice Layout
Line breaks and spacing condensed to use fewer pages. - VIN Input Field Behavior
The VIN field no longer clears when clicked. - Job Layout Adjustments
- Limited column widths to prevent horizontal scroll issues.
- Save and exit buttons moved further apart in the job edit modal.
- Calendar Panel Customization
Users can now hide the right-hand panel in the calendar view. - Shop Name Display in Header
The shop name now appears in the top navigation bar for easier shop identification when switching between accounts.
Bug Fixes
- Improved search support for companies with multi-word names.
- Copying jobs now retains task and part ordering, including work order view.
- Fixed issues with holiday and vacation display in the calendar.
- QBO export fixes for:
- Tasks or parts with leading spaces.
- Null hourly rate now treated the same as 0 for invoice display.
- Prevented exports from getting stuck in pending status.
- Fixed:
- Task order jumping when deleting tasks.
- Task description field losing focus when saving.
- Work order number not populating when moving an estimate to a job.
- Dead links on the dashboard to-do list.
Additional Improvements
- VIN and Part Barcode Scanning via Mobile Camera
You can now scan VINs and parts using your phone’s camera. - Improved Global Search
Tasks and parts are now searchable from the main search bar. - Customer History View Enhancements
Option to display tasks within each job. - Folder-Level Indicators
- Folders now show visual indicators when a timer is running inside.
- Folder titles turn gold if they contain tasks assigned to the logged-in user.
- Alphabetical Sorting of Common Tasks
Common tasks now appear in alphabetical order when creating a new job. - Right-Click to Copy Job Details
You can now right-click to copy customer first and last names from the job view. - iPad Landscape Fix
Resolved an issue where the header bar disappeared in landscape mode on iPads. - Job Reports Page Redesign
The page now includes additional metrics and a more compact layout for easier viewing.
